Make sure your business finances are in order and learn to keep them that way
Everyone knows that business should make money – right? But do you know how much money it takes to start and run your business (online or off)? Do you know how much of the sales price you have set for your product is material, labor, overhead and profit?
As creative types – most of us tend to skip over this part of the business (I’ll pay the bills when I sell something). That “head in the sand” approach will not serve us well if we want to run a real business with substantial sales and actual profit. I’ve rounded up a collection of books that I’ve found helpful with the financial decision making for my own artisan business. I hope they help you as well.
All of these books are available at Amazon.com. Some of them are available in a kindle / reader edition and some of them may also be available at a local bookstore or library in your area. In any case they are great resources for you to consider.
